What is the Position?

Full Time Parts and Service Clerk- Responsible for operation of the parts inventory for maximum efficiency and cost control.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain the parts inventory at the levels set forth by the Service Manager.
  • Minimize technician down time by obtaining parts in a prompt fashion.
  • Identify the most competitive supplier for all parts and accessories.
  • Investigate pricing trends and be knowledgeable with respect to general pricing of parts.
  • Verify parts inventory on a monthly basis. Report and overages/shortages.
  • Work with Service Manager and other service personnel to maximize service department profitability.
  • Maintain and assist in ordering shop supplies as directed.
  • Provide prompt and timely follow up on pending orders to minimize technician down time.
  • Make recommendations for makeup of parts inventory as requested.
  • Track and insure proper core credits on a timely basis.
  • Ensure proper documentation of parts used, associated costs, and warranty information.
  • Assist the Service Department as needed answering phones, scheduling service appointments, making reminder calls, and support the team as needed.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of parts inventory and acquisition process.
  • Ability to work with and coordinate technician’s parts orders.
  • Able to lift 50lbs.
  • Sit, stand and walk for long periods of time.

AUTHORITY LEVELS WITH RESPECT TO DECISION MAKING:

  • Parts order authorization only as directed by the Service Manager.
  • Manage monthly budgets set forth by the Owner.

KEY PRIORITY ASSIGNMENTS:

  • Develop, maintain, and execute parts inventory processes.
